Van Wesemael Group takes over Van Nifterik Group

EDE, December 3, 2020. The Van Wesemael Group strengthens its position in the horticultural sector with the acquisition of Van Nifterik from Ede, a leading supplier in the field of plant support.

Modern and innovative company

The Van Wesemael Group sees the takeover of Van Nifterik as an opportunity to further expand its position in the horticultural sector. “Van Nifterik is a modern and innovative company where quality and sustainability are very important. With its own production location and trading office in China, it also has good control over the supply chain. By involving the knowledge and forces in the Wesemael Group, the volume of goods imported from China within this group of companies is becoming much larger and the range of support materials is also becoming much deeper. ”

Choices for the future

Alex van Nifterik, owner, is also very satisfied with the joining of forces. “We deliberately opted for a large supplier in agriculture and horticulture that is present in many subsectors. This is a step towards the future that guarantees our continuity and gives Van Nifterik the opportunity to grow further. The fact that Van Wesemael Groep is also an old family business with a similar culture and customer approach is, in my opinion, of great added value.” In 2015, Van Wesemael already took over two parts of Van Nifterik.

Independent within the group

Van Nifterik will remain active under its own name and as a fully independently operating company within the Van Wesemael Group. Alex van Nifterik also remains involved with the company. He will focus on product development and the further development of the companies in China. The day-to-day management of Van Nifterik Holland will be in the hands of Dikkie van Nifterik, who already worked for the company from Ede between 2009 and 2015 and is currently managing FS Europe, one of the other subsidiaries within the Van Wesemael Group.
