Van Nifterik’s roots go back more than 50 years. Around 1969 Van Nifterik Senior started as a fruit grower, trading in tree poles which were used to support fruit trees. His dedication ensured that both in the Netherlands and internationally Van Nifterik’s Palenhandel become a household name.

In 1994 Van Nifteriks’ Palenhandel became Van Nifterik Holland B.V. led by Alex van Nifterik. The same year, Alex visited the area in China where bamboo is grown. This ignited the love for bamboo. Back in the Netherlands, bamboo was already used for plant supports. The company grew into a specialist in support materials for horticulture, tree nursery and fruit cultivation.

Between 2008 and 2015 Van Nifterik was also active in Ukraine, especially in the fruit growing sector and the tree nursery sector. In 2015, this company was transferred to Ukrainian management. Their goal is to work for local Ukraine fruit growers.

In 2015, Van Nifterik sold the fruit cultivation and tree nursery departments to Van Wesemael. This created room in Van Nifterik to focus and develop in the horticultural sector.

In December 2020, Van Nifterik was taken over by Van Wesemael: a future-oriented step that gives both companies new opportunities to grow further. The daily management of Van Nifterik will be in the hands of Dikkie van Nifterik. Alex van Nifterik focuses on product development and further development of the companies in China.
